TAL Group provided me the opportunity to apply myself and my determination to learn, develop and move up the ranks. I started here years back as an Technology Recruiter, but my passion for resource solutions began the transition to my current role as Director of Recruitment.

I’m a transformational coach that believes in the HR movement and is driven by employee empowerment and engagement. I understand that happy and satisfied employees directly relates with satisfied customers. I have a thirst for learning and keeping up to date with trends in the HR and recruitment world. I’m currently studying to achieve the CHRL certification and I’m a recent graduate of the Dale Carnegie course. I love incorporating my learning into our organization culture.

Outside of work I love soccer, hockey, cooking and most of all, time with my family.

My specialities include talent acquisition, team building and creative problem solving. My proven ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences has enabled me to develop and maintain strong client and candidate relationships.

I take pride in being a woman in leadership within my organization, and actively mentor and empower women on our team that are eager to grow, progress & achieve their goals. In 2017 I kickstarted our partnership with Canada’s Learning Code and launched our in-house Employee Reward Program, which embraces a variety of lifestyle choices and allows our team members to recognize one another’s effort, work & accomplishments.

Prior to joining TAL Group, I was part of the Marketing Team for the Walt Disney Company in Canada. In addition to leaving me covered in pixie dust, the experience ingrained in me the importance of exceeding expectations & believing in your dreams. Outside of work, I can be found enjoying time with my husband and puppy, horseback riding or acting in film/tv.

TAL Group is looking to add motivated, social-media savvy Technology Recruiters to its growing team! We are looking for Sales Rockstars with the ambition to drive results and deliver. As compared to retail, the recruitment sector can deliver as much as 2-3 times the commission. We want people who make their own decisions.

Chosen candidates will identify, screen and interview prospective candidates, engage in business development (when required), cultivate market research (when required) and attend industry meet-ups, training sessions, and events. Note: This is an internal role here at The TAL Group.

Main Responsibilities

  • Utilizing internal and external databases to identify and reach out to potential candidates.
  • Placing job requirements online to generate interest and increase candidate pool.
  • Regularly screening candidates to ensure a match of qualifications and requirements.
  • Utilizing social tools to identify and headhunt passive talent, not exclusively relying upon LinkedIn.
  • Conducting candidate interviews and meetings, and presenting job opportunities to qualified candidates.
  • Serving as the middleman between the client and candidate, negotiating contract terms on their behalf.

  • Not Your First Rodeo: At least 2-3 years’ previous experience as an Technology Recruiter within an agency environment, working with all levels of Technology requirements including contract & permanent roles.
  • Rockstar Past: You are a self-driven team player with a proven track record of consistently delivering on several assignments simultaneously, and consistently meeting or exceeding quotas.
  • A Little Old & New School: You embrace “old school” headhunting strategies, including cold calling and meet-ups, while also being informed on “new school” technologies to access talent.
  • Social Media Guru: You are an agile thinker that likes to break away from tradition and strategically apply social tools to access passive talent. You incorporate multiple social tools into your headhunting strategy, not just exclusively relying upon LinkedIn.
  • Tech-Savvy: You are passionate about tech & mobile, and eager to learn about the latest emerging technologies on the market. When you speak to prospective Technology & Mobile candidate about roles, you understand the technologies in play & their role in the market.

If you have extensive background in business development and/or relationship building within the tech space, that’s even better!

  • Ability to interact effectively with senior-level executives as clients and candidates
  • Broad range of advanced business experience crossing various industries
  • At least 3+ years of executive recruiting experience or financial services experience
  • Extensive background in business development and relationship building
  • Knowledge and ability to relate to financial advisor candidates at the executive level
  • Should be highly organized and committed to process-driven environment
  • Should have entrepreneurial drive and be independent and self-motivated
