Contract Position - Mississauga
Our client, located in Mississauga, ON is looking for a Web Content Writer to help build out the content strategy and bolster their digital marketing efforts for their flagship software offering. Reporting to the Group Marketing Manager for Acquisition & Optimization, this position will work within the marketing group to create highly engaging and relevant content for blog, social media, and offsite advertising channels that will help fuel growth for the business.
You will collaborate closely with the SEO Manager, the site experience team, and brand team to ensure that cross channel media includes a multi-channel content strategy that adds value to the product in the form of increased traffic and subscribers, and keeps new and existing brand followers coming back for more.
What You'll Be Doing
-Writing, updating, and refining web content, blogs, social media channels, and other digital content to driver stronger user engagement and improve organic search rankings
-Expand organic and social presence through highly sharable, link-worthy pieces
-Develop eye-catching headlines, ad copy, and social copy resulting in higher rates of engagement
-Research industry-related topics and categories to write authoritatively for the small business industry and the FMS category
-Create content sitemaps, and collaborate on wireframe discussions for content needs
-Create content calendars rooted in research of current events and timed according to business (topic) seasonality
-Assist in writing SEO-optimized digital content including meta-tags, descriptions, titles, blog posts and landing pages that utilize best practices
-Stay up-to-date with SEO best practices for website copy.
What You're Bringing
-4+ years of experience in content creation and copywriting with a focus on building customer knowledge bases through articles and blogs for websites
-Strong understanding or empathy of/for small businesses, and the crucial role that proper financials and accounting is in their success
-Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and how to utilize KW research and TF-IDF to identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive traffic
-Experience in managing a significant volume of content
-Excellent storyteller, writer, and editor
-Excellent overall writing skills in a number of different styles/tones
-Superb attention to detail
-Impeccable spelling and grammar
-Confidence and initiative-taking when ideating, researching, and editing
-Ability to collaborate as part of a team, and also work independently to accomplish tasks
-Nice to have, bachelor's or advanced degree in creative writing, journalism, marketing, advertising, communications or a related field
